Living Green continues to provide positive results with just over 400 hundred people who have now completed the Green Living Training Course. Information received from Master Builders from annual reports completed as part of the reaccreditation process indicates that this covers 6,000 sites that are not polluting the environment.

The latest course emphasized the important role that reduced emissions from houses will play in carbon abatement.
A number of changes to regulations have been flagged for 2010 and it's important that we keep ahead as leaders in this field. The latest course covered subjects about enabling industry to increase from 5 star to 6 star requirements for new housing.
- The role of a home sustainability assessor and the implications of a proposed 2011 move to mandatory disclosure were presented which will require an energy assessment of the home each time it is sold or rented.
- It is envisaged that owners may undertake renovations to improve energy ratings as has been the case in a similar program in the A.C.T. where there has been a higher sale price associated with a higher energy rating.
- The Green Loan Program, Renovations to Improve Energy Ratings, Water Storage Systems and the possible use of smart meters to offset any move to increase power cost during peak periods were discussed.
- Water storage systems and the benefit of capturing, storing and making use of storm water onsite and the role that the installation of water tanks play in making this happen along with other environmental considerations such as controlling water flow into creeks and pollution being washed into waterways.
- Energy efficient design was covered noting that homes in Melbourne used four times more energy to heat the home than cool it and that single glazing of windows resulted in ten times more heat than an insulated wall.
